पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

अनृच् [anṛc] च [c], च a. [न. ब.]

Without a hymn, not containing a verse from the Ṛigveda; अनृक् साम P.V.4. 74 Sk.

[नास्ति ऋक् अभ्यस्ततया यस्य अच् समासः] Not conversant with, not studying the Ṛigveda, one not invested with the sacred thread and hence not yet entitled to study the Vedas (as a boy); द्विवेदाश्चैकवेदाश्चा- प्यनृचश्च तथापरे Mb.3.149.28. यथा चाज्ञे$फलं दानं तथा विप्रो$ नृचो$फलः Ms.2.158; अनृचो माणवकः Mugdha. (In this case the form should properly be अनृच; अनृचबह्वृचावध्ये- तर्येव Sk.; but sometimes अनृच् also in the same sense; cf. तथा$नृचे हविर्दत्वा न दाता लभते फलम् Ms.3.142; सहस्रं हि सहस्राणामनृचां यत्र भुञ्जते 131); अनृक्क also in the same sense.
