(II)--the Asuras born of the blood of Andhaka Asura, hit by the पाशुपत of Rudra. To counter- act their evil propensities Rudra created a number of मातृस् who could not bring about the desired effect. Hence वासु- deva created a शुष्करेवती who brought about their des- truction by drinking off their blood. M. १७९. 7-३७.
