उग्रायुध/ उग्रा m. N. of a prince.
(I)--the son of नीप, and father of क्षेम. भा. IX. २१. २९.
(II)--the son of कृत (कार्ता the सामग- वा। प्।) of Paurava dynasty. Father of क्षेम; slew father of पृथुक, the पाञ्चाल Ni1la: Conqueror of नीपस्: was engaged in severe austerities for १८,000 years. Was served by Janamejaya, son of भल्लाट. They were both attacked by नीपस् who were unmoved by उग्रायुध's appeals for peace and protection; then उग्रा- yudha asked Lord of Death to destroy them. Soon he took pity and asked Yama to save them; and this led to a scuffle between Yama and the king who got salvation. M. ४९. ५९-78; वा. ९९. १८२, १९१; Vi. IV. १९. ५३-55. [page१-212+ २५]
