दलः [dalḥ] लम् [lam], लम् [दल्-अच्]

(a) A piece, portion, part, fragment; वापीष्वन्तर्लीनमहानीलदलासु Śi.4.44. (b) A piece torn or split off. (c) Tearing, cutting.

A degree.

A half, the half.

A sheath, scabbard.

A small shoot or blade, a petal, leaf; ताम्बूलीनां दलैस्तत्र रचितापानभूमयः R.4.42; Ś.3.2,21.

The blade of any weapon.

A clump, heap, quantity.
