देवावृध¦ पु॰ देवा वर्द्धन्तेऽनेन वृध--घञर्थे क दीर्घः। सात्वतेनृपभेदे
“सात्वतान् सत्वसम्पन्नान् कोशल्या सुषुवेसुतान्। भजिनं भजमानञ्च दिव्यं देवावृधं नृपम्” हरिवं॰

(I)--a son of सात्वत and father of Babhru; equal to Gods; फलकम्:F1: भा. IX. २४. 6-१०; Vi. IV. १३. 1-3.फलकम्:/F sonless he performed penance on the banks of the पर्णाशा (s.v.) which became transformed into a maid, married him and became mother of Babhru. फलकम्:F2: Br. III. ७१. १६-15; M. ४४. ४७-59; वा. ९६. 6-१५.फलकम्:/F The वायु पुराण says that when he made austerities, he touched the waters of the सवऋणा when सावित्री appeared as a lady, received his तेजस् and brought forth a good son in the ninth month.
