पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

--one of the seven sons of कौशिक; suggested that the cow of their guru be offered in a स्राद्ध and then shared by his brothers; accordingly two of the brothers were made Devas, three पितृस् and one अतिथि in the स्राद्ध; cakra- वाक in मानस became desirous of being a king, seeing the पाञ्चाल King in a pleasure garden; became son of विभ्राज by name Brahmadatta and his wife Sanniti was the cow of Garga offered in श्राद्ध, born as a daughter of Devala. M. २०. 3-२६.
