पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

वाजसनेयी, [न्] पुं, (वाजसनेयेन प्रोक्तं वेदमस्त्य- स्येति । इनिः ।) यजुर्व्वेदी । यथा, -- “आर्षक्रमेण सर्व्वत्र शूद्रा वाजसनेयिनः ॥” इति महाजनपरिगृहीतवचनात् यजुर्व्वेदविधि- नैव कर्म्म कुर्य्युः । इति मलमासतत्त्वम् ॥ (यथा, हरिवंशे । १४० । २ । “ब्राह्मणो याज्ञवल्क्यस्य शिष्यां धर्म्मगुणान्वितः । ब्रह्मदत्तेति विख्यातो विप्रो वाजसनेयिनाम् ॥”)

VĀJASANEYĪ (VĀJASANEYAS) : A group of Priests. Priest Yājñavalkya was one of the disciples of Yajur Veda-group of Vyāsa. Of the line of disciples, Yājña- valkya had fifteen disciples. They were called Vājasaney- ins or Vājasaneyas.

The Yajus--collection received from the god Sun were divided into fifteen groups by Yājñavalkya and given to each of his disciples. From that day onwards, his dis- ciples became famous by the name Vājasaneyas. (Br. U 7-3-7).
