पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

श्रुतिः, स्त्री, (श्रूयतेऽनयेति । श्रु + “श्रुयजिस्तुभ्यः करणे ।” ३ । ३ । ९४ । इत्यस्य वार्त्तिकोक्त्या करणे ।” क्तिन् ।) वेदः । (यथा, मनुः । २ । १० । “श्रुतिस्तु वेदो विज्ञेयो धर्म्मशास्त्रन्तु वै स्मृतिः ॥”) कर्णः । इत्यमरः ॥ (यथा, भागवते । ९ । ४ । १८ । “करौ हरेर्मन्दिरमार्ज्जनादिषु श्रुतिं चकाराच्यु तसत्कथोदये ॥”) गर्भस्थस्य पञ्चमासैः श्रुतिर्भवति । इति सुख- बोधः ॥ श्रुतोन्द्रियग्राह्यः शब्दः शब्दत्वादिः । यथा, -- अन्यच्च । “तीव्राकुमुद्वतीमन्दाछन्दोवत्यस्तु षड्जगाः । दयावती रञ्जनी च रतिका ऋषभे स्थिताः ॥ रीद्री क्रोधा च गान्धारे वज्जिकाथ प्रसा- रिणी । प्रोतिश्च मार्ज्जनीत्येताः श्रुतयो मध्यमाश्रिताः ॥ क्षिती रक्ता च सन्दीपन्यालापिन्यपि पञ्चमे । मदन्ती रोहिणी रम्येत्येता धैवतसंश्रयाः । उग्रा च क्षोभिणीति द्वे निषादे वसतः श्रुती ॥” इति सङ्गीतरत्नाकरः ॥
