पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

सूक्ष्मम्, क्ली, (सूच्यते इति । सूच पैशुन्ये + “सूचेः स्मन् ।” उणा० ४ । १७६ । इति स्मन् ।) कैतवम् । अध्यात्मम् । इति मेदिनी ॥ (यथा, भागवते । ३ । ८ । १४ । “तस्यार्थसूक्ष्माभिनिविष्टदृष्टे- रन्तर्गतोऽर्थो रजसा तनीयान् ॥”) अलङ्कारविशेषः । यथा, -- “सूक्ष्मं पराशयाभिज्ञे त्वरसाकूतचेष्टितम् । मयि पश्यति सा केशैः सीमन्तमणिमावृणोत् ॥ इति चन्द्रालोकः ॥

सूक्ष्मः, पुं, (सूच् + स्मन् ।) कतकवृक्षः । इति शब्दरत्नावली ॥ अणुः । अल्पे, त्रि । इति मेदिनी ॥ (यथा, महाभारते । १ । २१३ । १५ । “न तस्याः सूक्ष्ममप्यस्ति यद्गात्रे रूपसम्पदा । नियुक्ता यत्र वा दृष्टिर्न सज्जति निरीक्षताम् ॥”) तत्पर्य्यायः । “अल्पे स्तोके क्षुल्लसूक्ष्मं क्षुल्लकञ्च कृशं तनु । दभ्रं खुल्ल खुल्लकञ्च स्त्रियां मात्रा त्रुटी कणा । पुमानणुर्लवो लेशः कणोऽपि च निगद्यते ॥” इति शब्दरत्नावली ॥

SŪKṢMA : A notorious Dānava, who was born to Prajāpati Kaśyapa by his wife Danu. The King Jayadratha, was the rebirth of this Dānava. (M.B. Ādi Parva, Chapter 67, Verse 18).
