उभयः, त्रि, (उभौ अवयवौ अस्य । उभ + तयप् । उभादुदात्तो नित्यमिति । ५ । २ । ४४ । तयपो- ऽयजादेशः । कथमुभये देवमनुष्या इति यतो बहूनामुभावयवौ न घटतः । नैष दोषः । अत्र हि द्वौ राशी समुदायस्यावयवौ । एको देवानां अपरो मनुष्याणामिति । उभादुदात्तो नित्यमिति नित्य- ग्रहणस्येदं प्रयोजनं वृत्तिविषये उभशब्दप्रयोगो माभूत् उभयशब्दस्यैव यथा स्यादिति ।) युगलम् । इति शब्दचन्द्रिका ॥ दुइ इति भाषा । (यथा, मनुः । २ । ५५ ॥ “पूजितं ह्यशनं नित्यं बलमूर्जञ्च यच्छति । अपूजितन्तु तद्भक्तमुभयं नाशयेदिदम्” ॥)
