दन्तः, पुं, (दम + “हसिमृग्रिणिति ।” उणां । ३ । ८६ । इति तन् ।) अद्रिकटकः । कुञ्जः । इति मेदिनी । ते, २३ ॥ शैलशृङ्गम् । इति दन्ताश्चलन्ति वेष्टेभ्यस्तालु चाप्यवदीर्य्यते । दन्तमांसानि पच्यन्ते मुखञ्च परितुद्यते ॥ यस्मिन् स सर्व्वजो व्याधिर्महाशैशिरसंज्ञितः ॥ ५ ॥ दन्तमांसानि शीर्य्यन्ते यस्मिन् ष्ठीवति चाप्यसृक् । पित्तासृक्कफजो व्याधिर्ज्ञेयः परिदरो हि सः ॥ ६ ॥ वेष्टेषु दाहः पाकश्च ताभ्यां दन्ताश्चलन्ति च । अभ्याहताः प्रस्रवन्ति शोणितं दन्तवेदना ॥ आध्मायन्ते स्रुते रक्ते मुखं पूति च जायते । यस्मिन् सोपकुशो नाम पित्तरक्तकृतो गदः ॥ ७ ॥ घृष्टेषु दन्तमांसेषु संरम्भो जायते महान् । भवन्ति दन्ताश्च चलाः स वैदर्भोऽभिघातजः ॥ ८ ॥ मारुतेनाधिको दन्तो जायते तीव्रवेदनः । खलिवर्द्धनसंज्ञोऽसौ जाते रुक् च प्रशाम्यति ॥ ९ ॥ शनैः शनैः प्रकुरुते वायुर्दन्तसमाश्रितः । करालान् विकृतान् दन्तान् करालो न स सिध्यति ॥ १० ॥ हानव्ये पश्चिमे दन्ते महान् शोथो महारुजः । लालास्रावी कफकृतो विज्ञेयः सोऽधिमां- सकः ॥ ११ ॥ दन्तमूलगता नाड्यः पञ्च ज्ञया यथेरिताः । दीर्य्यमाणेष्विव रुजा यस्य दन्तेषु जायते ॥ दालनो नाम स व्याधिः सदागतिनिमित्तजः ॥ १२ ॥ कृष्णच्छिद्रश्चलः स्रावी ससंरम्भो महारुजः । अनिमित्तरुजो वातात् स ज्ञेयः कृमिदन्तकः ॥ १३ ॥ वक्त्रं वक्रं भवेद्यस्य दन्तभङ्गश्च जायते । कफवातकृतो व्याधिः स भञ्जनकसंज्ञितः ॥ १४ ॥ शीतरूक्षप्रवाताम्लस्पर्शानामसहा द्विजाः । पित्तमारुतकोपेन दन्तहर्षः स नामतः ॥ १५ ॥ (दन्तमांसैर्मलस्रावैर्वाह्यान्त्रः श्वयथुर्गुरुः । सदाहरुक्स्रवेद्भिन्नः पूयास्रं दन्तविद्रधिः ॥) मलो दन्तगतो यस्तु कफमारुतशोषितः । शर्करेव खरस्पर्शा सा ज्ञेया दन्तशर्करा ॥ १६ ॥ कपालेष्विव दीर्य्यत्सु दन्तानां सैव शर्करा । कपालिकेति पठिता सदा दन्तविनाशिनी ॥ १७ ॥ योऽसृङ्मिश्रेण पित्तेन दग्धो दन्तस्त्वशेषतः । श्यावतां नीलतां वापि गतः स श्यावदन्तकः ॥” १८ इति माधवकरः ॥
