Discussing any point in question. -Comp. -तृतीयम् the third of a square pace. -भङ्गः want of symmetry of regularity, the breaking of arrangement, regarded as a fault of composition. (It is the same as भग्नप्रक्रमता mentioned in K. P.7, the break of symmetry being either in expresion or construction; नाथे निशाया नियतेर्नियोगादस्तं गते हन्त निशापि याता is an instance of the former, where गता निशापि would relieve the irregularity of expression; and विश्रब्धं क्रियतां वराहततिभिर्मुस्ताक्षतिः पल्वले is an instance of the latter, where the symmetry of the verse requires the active instead of the passive construction, and the fault may be removed by reading the line as विश्रब्धा रचयन्तु शूकरवरा मुस्ताक्षतिं पल्वले; see K. P.7 under भग्नप्रक्रमता for further datails. -निरुद्ध a. stopped in the beginning.

प्रक्रम पु.
(प्र + क्रम् + घञ्) लम्बाई की एक नाप = 3 पाद, का.श्रौ.सू. 16.8.22 (प्रक्रमस्त्रिपादः) (चयन)। यज्ञ की प्रकृति के अनुसार यह माप भिन्न हो सकती है और यजमान के पैर की लम्बाई पर आधृत पाद पर निर्भर है, वैखा.श्रौ.सू. 4.11-5.2; दो या तीन पदों के बराबर (एक पद = 15 अंगुल, आप.श्रौ.सू. 5.4.3 भाष्य); का.श्रौ.सू. 8.3.14; भाष्य। वेदि आदि के निर्माण के लिए प्रयुक्त। नापने वाली रस्सी ‘प्रक्रम-स्थानीय’ कहलाती है, आप.श्रौ.सू. 14.15.11; हि.आ.ध. II (2) 989n एवं 1152n, बौ.श्रौ.सू. (चि.भा.से.)।
