भवनम्, क्ली, (भवत्यस्मिन्निति । भू + अधिकरणे ल्युट् ।) गृहम् । (यथा, मनौ । ११ । १८ । “स त्वप्सु तं घटं प्रास्य प्रविश्य भवनं स्वकम् ॥” प्रासादः । यथा, महाभारते । ३ । ५४ । १३ । “देवराजस्य भवनं विविशाते सुपूजितौ ॥” भू + भावे ल्युट् ।) भावः । इति मेदिनी ॥ (यथा, “ननु प्रागसतो घटस्य भवनं दृश्यते ॥” इति तार्किकाः ॥)

Horoscope, natal star. -नः A dog. -Comp. -उदरम् the interior of a house. -द्वारम् a palace-gate. -पतिः, -स्वामिन् m. the lord of the house, a pater familias.

--house; the time for the building of houses; वैशाख, आषाढ, श्रावण, कार्त्तिक, मार्गशीर्ष, फाल्गुण are recommended; Citra, ज्येष्ठ, भाद्रपद, आश्वयुज, पौष, and माघ are not recommended; the नक्षत्रस् अश्वि- ni, रोहिणि, मूलम्, the three Uttaras, स्वाति, Hasta and अनू- राध are commended; excepting Sundays and Wednesdays all days are good; the respective position of सूर्य and Can- dra must be considered; this also applies to the making of wells and tanks; the examination of the ground is differently mentioned for different castes; सामाहिक va1stu is to be installed; details as regards the kind of wood, the position and other technique are also given in the chapter; the fol- lowing chapter (२५४) gives a description of चतुस्शाल, tri- शाल, द्विशाल and एकशाल.
