पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

मल्ल, ङ धृतौ । इति कविकल्पद्रुमः ॥ (भ्वा०- आत्म०-सक० सेट् ।) ङ, मल्लते । इति दुर्गा- दासः ॥

मल्लः, पुं, (मल्लते धरति बलमिति । मल्ल् + अच् ।) बाहुयोधी । इत्यमरभरतौ । माल इति भाषा ॥ (यथा, श्रीमद्भागवते । १० । ४३ । १७ । “मल्लानामशनिर्नृणां नरवरः स्त्रीणां स्मरो मूर्त्तिमान् ॥”) वर्णसङ्करजातिविशेषः । माला इति भाषा । स च व्रात्यक्षत्त्रियात् सवर्णायां जातः । इति मानवे १० अध्यायः ॥ स च लेटात् तीवर- कन्यायां जातः । इति ब्रह्मवैवर्त्तपुराणम् ॥ तन्त्रवाय्यां कुन्दकाराज्जातः । इति पराशर- पद्धतिः ॥ पात्रम् । कपोलम् । मत्स्यभेदः । इति मेदिनी । ले, ४४ ॥ देशविशेषः । यथा, -- “दशार्णा नवराष्ट्रञ्च मल्लाः शाल्ला युगन्धराः ॥” इति विराटपर्व्वणि १ अध्यायः ॥
