पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

मारुतः, पुं, (मरुदेव । मरुत् + “प्रज्ञादिभ्यश्च ।” ५ । ४ । ३८ । इति स्वार्थेऽण् ।) वायुः । इत्यमरः । १ । १ । ६५ ॥ म्रियतेऽनेन क्रुद्धेन नाम्नीति मृ ङ उत् मरुत् मरुदेव मारुतः स्वार्थे ष्णः । इति तट्टीकायां भरतः ॥ (यथा, मनौ । ४ । १२२ -- १२३ । “अतिथिञ्चाननुज्ञाप्य मारुते वाति वा भृशम् । रुचिरे च श्रुते गात्राच्छस्त्रेण च परिक्षते । सामध्वनावृग्यजुषी नाधीयीत कदाचन ॥) अस्योत्पत्तिर्यथा, -- कश्यप उवाच । “पुत्त्रस्ते भविता भद्रे ! इन्द्रहा देवबान्धवः । संवत्सरं व्रतमिदं यद्यञ्जो धारयिष्यसि ॥” अञ्जो यथावत् । “संवत्सरं पुंसवनं व्रतमेतदविप्लुतम् । “रासि क्षयं रासि मित्रमम्मे रासि शर्ध इन्द्र मारुतं नः ॥” “मारुतं मरुतां देवविशां सम्बन्धि ।” इति तद्भाष्पे सायणः ॥)
