पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

संयम् [saṃyam], 1 P.

To restrain, curb, check, control, govern, subdue (Ātm.) as passions &c.); असंयतात्मनो योगो दुष्प्राप इति मे मतिः Bg.6.36; Ms.2.1.

To bind, imprison, fasten, confine; वानरं मा न संयसीः Bk.9.5; M.1.7; R.3.2,42.

To gather (Ātm.); व्रीहीन् संयच्छते Sk.

To shut, close; सर्वद्वाराणि संयभ्य मनो हृदि निरुध्य च Bg. 8.12.

To hold together, hold fast.

To guide or drive (as horses).
