पृष्ठभागोऽयं यन्त्रेण केनचित् काले काले मार्जयित्वा यथास्रोतः परिवर्तयिष्यते। तेन मा भूदत्र शोधनसम्भ्रमः। सज्जनैः मूलमेव शोध्यताम्।

बोधः, पुं, (बोधनमिति । बुध् + भावे घञ् ।) ज्ञानम् । इति त्रिकाण्डशेषः ॥ (यथा मार्क- ण्डेये । २६ । १ । “वर्द्धमानं सुतं सा तु राजपत्नी दिने दिने । तमुल्लापादिना बोधमनयन्निर्ममात्मकम् ॥” अयं हि बुद्धेर्जातः । तथाहि मार्कण्डेये । ५० । २७ । “बोधं बुद्धिस्तथा लज्जा विनयं वपुरात्मजम् । व्यवसायं प्रजज्ञे वै क्षेमं शान्तिरसूयत ॥” ऋषिविशेषः । यथा मार्कण्डेये । ७६ । २८ ॥ “तयात्र मुक्तो हैमिन्या गृहीत्वा च सुतञ्च सा । बोधस्य द्विजमुख्यस्य गृहे नीतवती पुनः ॥” सूर्य्यरूपभेदः । यथा, मार्कण्डेये । १०१ । १९ । “बोधश्चावगतिश्चैव स्मृतिर्विज्ञानमेव च । इत्येतानीह रूपाणि तस्य रूपस्य भास्वतः ॥” जागरणकालः । चैतन्यम् । यथा, मार्क- ण्डेये । ८१ । ६७ । “प्रबोधञ्च जगत्स्वामी नीयतामच्युतो लघु । बोधश्च क्रियतामस्य हन्तुमेतौ महासुरौ ॥”)

Bodha is the name of a Ṛṣi in the Mantra Pāṭha. He is mentioned with Pratibodha in the Atharvaveda, but Whitney thinks that in the second passage, at least, the word is an ordinary noun meaning ‘the wakeful one.’
